My not so brand new Renegade and its issues

Just joined and wanted to share my experience so far with my 2nd hand Jeep Renegade. I love the look, performance, and its modern interior especially for the price. Ever since i had it, Ive been trying to sort a few issues like outdated firmware (Jeep says its too old to update, even though it's only like 4-5 years old), annoying notifications about offroad pages, and a reverse cam that doesnt work. The battery also seems to drain faster than expected, and the oil change reminder won't reset using usual methods. Aside from that and a frozen door latch one morning, Im really happy with it overall and would appreciate any advice.

For the system upgrade, there's a website drive uconnect i think it was. Enter the vin and see if your model is still eligible for updates. Or try your luck with another dealer.

For the oil reset, you can do the pedal dance and ignition combo, or you can get an obd that can help you reset it. I would go with the second option.

For the off road notifications, there should be a way to turn them of, so you might need to dig through the menu.

The battery drain can from a parasitic drain and a multimeter can help you figure things out. Turn it off, and let it sit for a while until it goes to sleep or whatever the mode is called. Use the multimeter to check the drain. As a general rule anything above 50mA is too much and often considered a parasitic draw

Just replace the battery. These cars are super picky about voltage, honestly, more sensitive than a teenager after a breakup. Most issues go away once you put in a new one. With this ride, you cant just let a battery die and hope for the best, if you do, you'll probably end up with bigger headaches and a trip to the dealer to reset stuff.
